The terminus of this hike is the Greek freightor, the Dominator, which can be great for kids to explore (if they can make it past the somewhat difficult rocks on the beach). Also along the way are some great ocean views as well as a lovely bay.
Coming down from Redondo Beach, take Highway 1 south to the Palos Verdes Blvd exit and continue south. Turn right onto Via Corta and then another right at Via Arroyo. Continue along Via Arroyo until Paseo Del Mar and take a left. Just before you reach Via Horcada, park on the street and take the dirt road down to the shore.
Coming down the dirt access road, you will have to climb and walk over a couple of miles of somewhat challenging rocks - make sure to bring sturdy shoes! After about 2 miles you will get to the shipwreck of the Dominator.
Wear sturdy shoes for the rocks as they can wear your ankles down.
Make sure to come at low tide or you will be wading through the rocks at some points.
