Overview: Include a general description of the trail, what points of interest might be found on it, and what might be seen along the way. This is a quick boardwalk trail. It passes through sawgrass slough and tropical hardwood forests. This trail is part of a longer trail, the Shark Valley Loop, which is approximately fifteen and a half miles long. There are three ways to complete this longer trail: by hiking, by biking or by tram (usually narrated by a Park Ranger). The tram route may overlap at some points with Bobcat Boardwalk Trail. Directions To Trailhead: Include directions to the trailhead from the nearest city or parking including walking, bicycling, or whichever is most appropriate. This trail begins behind the Shark Valley Visitor center, off of Tram Road. Trail Description: A detailed description of the trail. Try to describe directions within the trail such as forks in the trail or cairns. Include points of interest, overlooks, unique plants and animals, etc. This trail begins behind the Shark Valley Visitor Center on the main Shark Valley Loop Trail. Hikers will quickly come upon a marker for the Bobcat Boardwalk Trail: turn left to continue upon this trail and cross the bayhead. Conditions & Hazards: Describe possible trail hazards and current or potential conditions. Hazards might include narrow trails, poisonous animals or plants, etc. Conditions might include muddy trails after rain or snow closures and crowds. This trail is exposed. Be prepared for varied weather conditions, including thunderstorms, rainstorms and sun. Bring sunscreen. Fees, Permits, & Restrictions: Detail entrance or parking fees, any permits required for the trail (backpacking or climbing, for example), and restrictions on usage. Bicycles, rollerskates, and skateboards are not allowed on this trail. Pets are not allowed on this trail. Due to noise pollution, generators are not allowed in the Shark Valley area. Fishing, overnight camping and overnight backpacking are not allowed in the Shark Valley area. Everglades National Park Entrance Fee: $10.00 (valid for seven days) Everglades is usually open 365 days a year; however, parking lots may close at 6:00 p.m. Confirm park hours before arriving. Amenities: Describe parking lots, drinking fountains, bathrooms, etc. Discuss what to do and where to go after the hike, for example good food joints or nearby watering holes.
