This is a fun hike and great with kids; it has many options for extending on different side trails and features great views of Boney Mountain and a small pond.
Coming along Highway 101/Ventura Freeway, take the Wendy Dr. exit. Continue about 2.5 miles south and then turn right on Lynn Road. Continue another 1 mile and then take a left into the Satwiwa Park. Parking on the left side of the road.
From the parking lot you will begin the trail on a fire road heading into Big Sycamore Canyon. After about 0.25 miles you will reach a wooden bridge where you go left. Right past is a ranger station with a Native American cultural center. You can get a map at the ranger station and it will show you how to connect to the main Satwiwa Loop just across the grassy meadow.
The loop itself is quite easy and has some fantastic scenery, including Boney Mountain. Springtime wildflowers are quite beautiful on this trail.

There is a side trail that leads to a 3-tiered waterfall. It adds about 1.5 miles to the hike - look out for signage or on the map from the ranger station.
