This quick trip up to the iconic cross on Mount Davidson in the heart of San Francisco is a great way to see fantastic views of the city as well as the East Bay.
You can drive or take public transportation.
If driving, take Highway 280 south from Highway 101 and exit on Monterey Blvd. Drive 1 mile and take a right onto Forester Street. Drive 0.3 miles and take a left on Low Palmos Drive. Drive 2 blocks and take a right onto Bella Vista Way. Drive another 2 blocks and bear left onto Molimo Drive. Drive 1 more block and take a left on Myra Way. Find parking near the park.
On public transportation, Take the K, L, or M lines on MUNI to Forest Hill Station. Then transfer to the 36 bus line. Take the 36 toward Balboa Park BART station. Get off at Myra and Molimo and head up hill.
Heading up the trail and around the eastern side of the mountain you will have fantastic views of the city and the East Bay/East Bay Hills. You will get up to the top of the mountain and the cross, and then heads back down through a eucalyptus tree forest.
