This is a sweet loop up to the small mountain of Fir Top in Point Reyes National Seashore. Along the way you will see some meadows of grass and lush forests.
From San Francisco, drive north on Highway 1 and then take a left at the Five Brooks trailhead, next to the Five Brooks stables.
Starting the loop on the Olema Valley Trail, you will hike on a relatively flat ground for awhile. You will eventually come to the Bolema Trail which will be a turn uphill. From here you will hike essentially straight up.
At the top you will come to a junction with the Ridge Trail and the Lake Ranch Trail. Make a right turn to get onto the Ridge Trail. You will follow this for about 0.5 miles and then take a right onto the Stewart Trail.
From the Stewart Trail you will soon reach a sidetrail taking you up to Fir Top.
When you are finished on top of Fir Top, head down the Greenpicker Trail back to the Olema Valley Trail and this will take you back to the trailhead and the Five Brooks stables.

Five Brooks has an active horse stable where you can rent a horse for this or several other nearby trails.
