This is a quick boardwalk trail. It passes through sawgrass slough and tropical hardwood forests.
This trail is part of a longer trail, the Shark Valley Loop, which is approximately fifteen and a half miles long. There are three ways to complete this longer trail: by hiking, by biking or by tram (usually narrated by a Park Ranger). The tram route may overlap at some points with Bobcat Boardwalk Trail.
This trail begins behind the Shark Valley Visitor center, off of Tram Road.
This trail begins behind the Shark Valley Visitor Center on the main Shark Valley Loop Trail.
Hikers will quickly come upon a marker for the Bobcat Boardwalk Trail: turn left to continue upon this trail and cross the bayhead.
This trail is exposed. Be prepared for varied weather conditions, including thunderstorms, rainstorms and sun. Bring sunscreen.
Bicycles, rollerskates, and skateboards are not allowed on this trail.
Pets are not allowed on this trail.
Due to noise pollution, generators are not allowed in the Shark Valley area.
Fishing, overnight camping and overnight backpacking are not allowed in the Shark Valley area.
Everglades National Park Entrance Fee: $10.00 (valid for seven days)
Everglades is usually open 365 days a year; however, parking lots may close at 6:00 p.m. Confirm park hours before arriving.
