A pleasant walk around the shore in the small fishing village of bicheno. A great trail for families with plenty of photo opportunities and picnicing stops.
You can start from and end at any number of places, but the traditional start is the blow hole that starts at the end of Esplanade street. From the Tasman Highway coming from the south, turn right onto Foster Street and then another right onto Esplanade Street.
The trail simply follows the shore in a counter-clockwise direction. You will start at the blowhole and then back along the trail. Then go up past the gulch and around the reef area.
Once you pass the point, you will head west and down past Safe Beach, a great place to stop and enjoy the view and, depending on the season, dip into the water. You will go along the bay and then pass Cod Rock, ending at Redbill Point.
This is an easy trail without any real hazards.
No feets or permits.
There are picnic tables along the way as well as accessible cafes just a few streets in town if you're modifying the trail a bit.
